You don’t need to be an expert to help people move through the changes of grief and loss. This Facilitator’s Guide is designed in a way that you can follow the script through each session allowing for lots of time for sharing.
Each session starts with some connection time followed by a short video that presents the subject for this session. Following the video, the facilitator will take the group through the SEASONS session. In addition to the complete script, the Facilitator’s Guide includes learning objectives and outlines for each session along with a section with suggestions for processing your grief.
SEASONS was created by those who have suffered grief for those who are grieving. The SEASONS team has experience in the medical, psychological, and practical process of grieving.
Participants will be part of a group experience as they journey through ten sessions together:
SEASONS is built on the foundation of the Bible and the power of people gathering to support and strengthen each other. The sessions are biblically-based and present the Seventh-day Adventist beliefs of the state of the dead and our hope in Jesus’ soon return. Through the series of ten sessions participants will move from loss to discovery and finally to establishing a new identity and purpose.
Receiving support from one another is a biblical principle that has been borne out by evidence throughout time. SEASONS provides a place where we all learn from one another, looking to Jesus as our Wonderful Counselor, the Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
