The Apostle Paul wrote, “Thus it is not the gardeners with their planting and watering who count, but God who makes it grow. Whether they plant or water, they work as a team, though each will get his own pay for this own labor. We are God’s fellow workers, and you are God’s garden” (1 Corinthians 3:7-9, NEB).

We are God’s garden! No wonder we love to meet together in prayer; no wonder we expect to find grace and hope here, and even the Gardener Himself! No wonder the simple tools of praying, meditating, and confessing have such power to shape our lives, to restore our losses, to repair our brokenness, to bind up our wounds. No wonder the Psalmist recommends them and the apostles urge them on us and guarantee their results.

In Not Alone in the Garden you will find yourself in God’s garden, perhaps along with other believers of like mind and persuasion, or perhaps united with other believers only in that small circle of grace that is formed each time a sincere Christian bows in prayer and invites the Spirit to be manifest and Jesus known.
