The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a special mission to preach the good news of salvation to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people (Revelation 14:6). In reaching people from various backgrounds, we are reminded that “lessons must be given in the language of humanity” (The Desire of Ages, p. 34). For this reason, the General Conference Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department has initiated the Reaching & Winning series of courses on world religions.
The Word “occult” is derived from the Latin word occultus and means hidden, secret, dark, mysterious, or concealed. It is usually used to describe the phenomena that appear to transcend the world of our natural senses.
This course consists of four units that can be taught as four classes of about one and half hours in length, including the small group sessions. The units may also be divided into smaller time segments and the course taught over a longer period of time. It may also be studied personally.
